Prevent Stroke by Eating Chicken Breast or Salmon

Prevent Stroke by Eating Chicken Breast or Salmon  - Stroke can be deadly. To prevent this, try to consume at least one chicken breast or salmon fillet in a day or a total of 20 grams. According to scientists this way can reduce the risk of stroke by 20 percent.

Every extra 20 grams of protein eaten per day will reduce the risk of stroke by about 26 percent.

"One possible explanation protein lowers blood pressure," said Dr. Xinfeng Liu, Nanjing University School of Medicine.

Fish contain Omega-3 fatty acids and some other nutrients, including protein could protect against stroke.

However, the findings published in the journal Neurology that does not support a lot of red meat consumption is associated with the magnitude of the risk of stroke. But, it seems more protective of animal protein than plant protein.

"These results suggest that the risk of stroke can be reduced by replacing red meat with other protein sources," said Dr. Liu as reported by MailOnline, Saturday (06/14/2014).

Researchers analyzed seven studies involving a total diet and monitor progress 254 489 people on average for 14 years. As a result, respondents who ate more protein 20 per cent less likely to suffer a stroke than those who ate little protein.

"An estimated 1.4 million stroke deaths worldwide could be prevented each year with higher protein diet," he said.
